Kennedy-King College holds one on the largest Green Roofs in the City of Chicago with over 80,000 SF of plant life in roof planter trays. Structures Construction worked to revitalize the existing plant life in the roof trays while maintaining the roof warranty and enforcing public safety measures. Our experienced field crews spent several weeks maneuvering plant trays, power washing the existing roof systems, cleaning drains of debris, installing 30 mil slip sheet protection, & replenishing the roof trays with new plant clippings all the while keeping the public’s interest and safety at the forefront. The project was completed successfully in 6 weeks and germination could be seen a few weeks after temporary irrigation was implemented.
